IDES 3720 (Materials and Finishes) visits Francois & Company

Interior Design students enrolled in IDES 3720 Material and Finishes visited the
Francois & Company showroom on February 5, 2014.
They enjoyed learning about the over 300 year-old technique called scagliola, which the company owner, Thierry Francois, revived to make museum quality reproductions of the antique
mantels he rescues & imports. One of which is displayed in the Nashville showroom, the
Chevalier Mantel from the 13th century.
*Stephanie Ellis (Interior Design, Class of 2009) is the Nashville account executive and provided an excellent overview of the Francois & Co. product line and multiple real world examples
of working in the field residential and commercial clients.
