The Career Development Center is design to prepare you for the competitive job market in today's world. At the Career Development Center, you will have the opportunity to acquire internships and co-op positions from many one of our 300 registered companies; you can participate in mock interviews and resumé courses; and have the opportunity to sit and talk with PVAMU graduates that work for major corporations. The goal of the development center is to ensure that our students gain the necessary experience combined with enough professional exposure to transition effortlessly into corporate world. Evans Hall Rm 217 Diagnostic Testing and Disability Services At Prairie View A&M University, the Office of Diagnostic Testing and Disability Services exists to create and sustain a supportive environment that includes policies and practices that assist persons with disabilities to achieve at their fullest potential. To accomplish our mission we utilize two general approaches: Our first approach is to provide direct services to persons with disabilities. Services are individualized based on the needs of the person and the level of the disability. The second approach involves coordination of services with University faculty, staff and external community agencies. Evans Hall Rm 319 Special Event Request and Room Reservation The Office of Student Activities and Leadership manages the special event request and room reservation process for Prairie View A&M University. Our office takes the responsibility of communicating with the various facility managers and event schedulers to ensure that space is made available to accommodate the various functions of our on-campus entities and organizations. Located in the Memorial Student Center, Suite 221, the office of Student Activities & Leadership is also setup to offer additional information concerning event policies, advertising procedures, and building specifications. Tempton, Sr. Memorial Student Center, Suite 221 Risk Management Training for Student Organizations With on-going quality control and safety training, the Office of Student Activities and Leadership offer a FREE course on risk management for all student organizations on the campus of Prairie View A&M University. This provides organizations with the resources necessary to help ensure safety in their programming efforts for students and the Prairie View community alike. this course offers a risk assessment tool that helps event planners determine the level of risk that is associated with specific activities that they occur during the course of the event. That’s why we offer a wide range of services and programs to assist you, the student, in maximizing your potential for success. We provide short-term individual, couples, and group counseling, as well as crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and referral services. In addition, we offer extremely informative educational workshops and classroom presentations to interested groups who request them. Examples of these topics are listed here on the website. 2nd Floor, Owens-Franklin Health Center Volunteer Services Giving back to the Prairie View community is now easier with the addition of Volunteer Services to the division. Now students can seek volunteer opportunities in and around the campus from one office. Located in the 2nd Floor of the Memorial Student Center, Volunteer Services serves student organizations as well as individuals who would like to add services to their involvement resume.
