Reassigning a Proposal
A proposal may need to be reassigned for various reasons, including that the SPO Analyst is out of the
office, unavailable and/or incorrectly listed on a proposal. This feature can also be used to “bypass” a PI
who is unable to approve electronically, but who has completed an ink signature approval.
The SPO proposal coordinator can view all proposals in progress in the ePD Lite My Proposals screen.
SPO analysts who don’t have a proposal coordinator role will be able to locate the proposal using the
Search feature from their My Proposals screen. The proposal may be searched by ePD number, title key
words, unit or PI. Once the proposal has been located, follow the steps below.
As SPO Analyst and Proposal Coordinator

Next, go to ‘Approval Routing.’
Locate the appropriate person/name on the routing map and click ‘Add Alternate.’
NOTE: Adding an Alternate is
preferable to Adding an
Approver because an Alternate
can take action on the Primary
Approver’s behalf, whereas all
Primary Approvers would need
to Approve.
