Third-Year Experience Board Charge The Third-Year Experience (TYE) Board, which reports to the Student Engagement Steering Committee temporarily through the provost, is charged with: ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● ● Reviewing the literature on best practices for the third-year experience and communicating those best practices to the campus community; Creating a coherent and cohesive third-year experience based on best practices; Reviewing the third-year student-engagement goals and outcomes to ensure that they align with best practices; Refining the criteria for KPEs for the third-year experience; Ensuring that all third-year Key Points of Engagement (KPEs) meet the student engagement goals and outcomes and the criteria for ; Recommending the addition of new KPEs and the retirement of existing KPEs as appropriate and needed; Communicating and marketing the third-year experience program to third-year students in collaboration with other groups on campus; Working through the board membership to ensure that units responsible for third-year KPEs implement them in the spirit of the third-year goals and outcomes and assess them appropriately; Evaluating the suitability and feasibility of measures identified by units for KPE assessment and coordinating those measures to reduce redundancy and to promote collaboration; Reviewing and evaluating KPE assessment data and making recommendations to responsible units about ways to improve the third-year experience; Representing the board members’ respective units on the board; and Communicating the board’s decisions and recommendations to the Student Engagement Steering Committee and to the appropriate units.
