Each Wednesday, Kevin and his team will be featuring the cuisine of various countries with the return of the International Wednesday Lunch Buffets. With so many things to remember we have come up with a way to simplify your life. By completing a simple form, you can authorize the Faculty Club to automatically charge your monthly statement to your credit card. Contact the office for details. PATIO FEATURES Watch for an array of fresh entrée salads that will be added to our daily fresh sheet for the summer – great for the patio. Ask Crystal about our house-made Iced Coffee and Iced Tea or our new Baby Champagnes. WE MAKE GREAT SOUP! All of our soups are made from scratch and are vegetarian based (unless there is meat mentioned in the title) and you can now take it home to enjoy. $ 5.95 Litre CLUB CLOSURE The Faculty Club will once again be taking a short vacation break from Monday, July 23 until Friday, August 3, inclusive. We will return to regular service following the civic holiday on Tuesday, August 7. The Club office will be closed most of this time but if you need to contact us, please call 966-7777 and leave a message. We will be checking messages frequently. The Faculty Club will still be available for pre-booked functions on the weekends during this time. PARKING NEWS Just a reminder that effective May 1 and until August 31 you can park in the Stadium Parkade for a flat $2.00 exit charge (that’s $2.00 for the whole day!). We anticipate the Club will be exceedingly busy during this time, so we will be extending our lunch hour (11:00 am until 2:00 pm) with a maximum of two sittings each day. The lounge will be open until 11:00 pm each night. Please note that on certain occasions, the lounge may be booked for private functions and access may be limited. Thank you for your understanding. The last breakfast of this academic term will be Friday, May 18th Breakfast will be informal with an opportunity for faculty and staff to discuss university issues. Cost is $5.00 per person. Please reserve space by calling 966-7777 at least two days in advance. If the President is unavailable, one of the Vice-Presidents will attend. CLUB NOTES: A CLUB TO VISIT London, England The William Goodenough Club in London, England is situated in the beautiful Bloomsbury district and is comprised of five Georgian townhouses in a peaceful, yet central garden square. The Goodenough Club has been at the centre of the development of “Cultural Bloosmbury” www.culturalbloomsbury.org - a collaboration of partners striving to bring together the academic, the cultural and the commercial sectors to work in harmony with local government to raise awareness of Bloomsbury as an exciting area to visit and in which to live and work. Partners include the British Library, the Dickens Museum, the School of Advanced Study and Eurostar (the high speed trains that travel through the channel tunnel and arrive in Paris and Brussels within two hours).
