Academic Festival Roane State Community College April 7 & 8, 2016 to the schools accumulating the most General Guidelines The competition is limited to students in grades 9 through 12. The festival is split between two days: Thursday, April 7 for music competitions within the Music Division and Friday, April 8 for all other events. School Classifications: Division AA Schools: 1-69 registered students (includes homeschool programs) Division AAA Schools: 70+ registered students points during the festival. First, second and third place winners will be announced for each event. There are 86 competitive events. First-place winners will earn five points for their school. Second-place winners will earn three points for their school, and third-place winners will earn one point for their school. Each first-place winner will receive a festival medallion, and all second- and third-place winners will receive certificates. Medallions will be awarded the day of the festival. Certificates will be mailed to the schools at a later date. (includes homeschool programs) Due to time constraints there are caps on entries This is the total number of students entered per ed in each Division’s Guidelines. Do not allow your students to sign up in any other performance event outside of chemistry (except music, since music events are on Thursday.) Music—Students may enter only one solo performance event and one small ensemble event (PM-609, 610, 611, 612 or 613). Also, due to the size of the festival, each school Music—Thursday, April 7 may send only three performers for each solo event. The first festival held in 1978 to promote the arts and sciences was attended by 200 students from 5 high schools.
