Re: Results of vote by plan members on removal of the lump sum transfer
option upon retirement.
Ballots submitted by plan members were counted in the USFA office on November 5,
2014. Faculty Association and employer representatives were present, as were
members of the Academic Defined Benefit Pension Committee (ADBPC). All voter
declarations were validated against a list of Plan membership prior to opening and
counting of ballots.
Results of the ballot pertaining to the question "The lump sum option in the Plan
shall be removed for all members who qualify for an immediate pension on or after
July 1, 2015 " were:
Agree: 132
Disagree: 27
Total ballots cast: 159
Ineligible or spoiled ballots: 0
