Instructionalmethodsmayinclude:traditionallectures,internet-basedlectureswithin-classdiscussion,turningpoint

Remediationisaprivilegethatmustbeearnedthroughdemonstratedattendanceandactiveparticipationthroughout
thesemesterthatthenon-progressinggradewasearned.Tobeeligibleforremediation,thestudentmusthave
demonstratedregularattendance,completedallassignedworkinthecourseandutilizedotheracademicresources
suchastutoringandmeetingswiththeinstructor.
• Remediationwillbeofferedtoanystudentearningacourseaverageof≥65%regardlessofthetotalnumberof
studentsfailing.If≥7%oftheenrolledstudentsfailtoearnagradeof“C”orbetterinarequiredcourse,then
remediationwillbeallowedforanystudentearningafinalnonprogressinggradeof“D”or“F”forthecourse.
Thosewhochooseremediationwillbegivenanincomplete(“I”)untilthetimethatremediationisfinished.
• Studentschoosingremediationmustmakeascoreof≥70%onthetargetedremediationexamtopassandreceive
afinalgradeof“C”inthecourse.Nogradehigherthana“C”canbemadeinthecoursewithremediation.Ifthe
studentmakesagradeof<70%onthetargetedfinal,theiroriginalgradewilltaketheplaceofthe“I”grade.The
studentcanthenre-enrollinthecourseatthenextofferingifeligiblebasedonschoolprogressionpolicies.Ifthis
isthestudent’ssecond“F”gradeinthecurriculum,thestudentwillbedismissedfromtheprogram.
• Studentswillbeallowedtoremediatewithatargetedremediationexamnomorethanthree(3)timestotalin

daysbeforeEACHexamtodiscussthecircumstance(orasareminder)tohelpdetermineanappropriatecourse
ofactionthatwillhelpaddresstheissue.**
Studentswillbeexpectedtoonlyusescratchpaperprovidedbythecoordinatorsforexams.Whenenteringthe
classroombeforebeginningtheexam,studentsshallpickuptheofficialscratchpaperatthefrontoftheroom
(oritwillbepassedoutbyaninstructor).Studentsareresponsibleforprovidinganyrequestedinformation(i.e.
name,CWID)onthesheet(s)ofpaperandturninginanyun-/usedpapertothecoordinator/proctorwhenthey
arefinishedwiththeexam.Astudent’ssignatureonthescratchpaperindicatesthattheyhaveuploadedtheir
completedexam.
Ifastudent’scomputermalfunctionsduringtheexamperiod,oneofthealternativemethodslistedinthe
officialSOPpolicywillbefollowedtoallowthestudenttocompletetheexam.

Studentswillbeallowedtogobackandreviewquestionsleftunansweredortoalteroriginalanswersduringan
exambeforeuploading/submittingtheexam;however,measureswillbetakentominimizetheriskofcheating
duringanexam.Coordinatorswilldetermineifexamperformancewillbegivenattheconclusionoftheexam.If
examperformanceisshowntostudentsinExamSoftafteruploadinganexam,thisisnottobeconsideredthe
finalandofficialgradeuntilallquestionshavebeenreviewedbyfacultyandgradesareofficiallyposted.Grades
couldgoupordownbasedonquestionreview,challenges,andanalysis.ItisaviolationoftheCodeofEthical
andProfessionalConductforstudentstoviewanswersfromanotherstudents’computerandusethemastheir
own.
If2proctorsareavailableduringanexam,studentsareaskedtoshowproofofexamuploadbeforeleavingthe
classroom.Ifonlyoneproctorisavailableduringtheexam,thenanalternatemethodmaybeselectedbythe
proctorasthesituationdictates.Examproctorswillinformstudentsduringeachexamoftheproperwayto
verifytheirupload,turninscratchpaper,andexittheclassroom.
StudentsthathavebeengrantedspecialneedsaccommodationswillreporttotheOSPAtocompleteexams.
StudentsareresponsibleformakingtheappropriatearrangementswithOSPAfortheseaccommodations.
Studentsshouldletcoordinatorsknowiftheywillbetestinginanalternatelocation.
