Internal Stores Procedure
Effective date January 1, 2016
Agriculture
The university supports a number of internal stores,
many of which are focused on supporting operations for
the university. A few are retail stores and open to the
public.

Stores Requisition or Order Form
Goods can be ordered and picked up by completing the applicable stores requisition or order form. Costs will
be charged to the department/unit’s university account number provided at the time of order.
Tri-Agency Accounts
Any goods charged against a Tri-Agency account will require written delegation of authority to the specific
stores operation, or evidence of principal investigator approval or signature for a specific purchase.
Consignment Stock, including Freezer Programs
Goods on consignment are made available through supplier contracts for select high volume items, and are a
cost effective way of reducing inventory overhead for the university. Consignment stock is not invoiced until
an item is issued from stores. Purchases must be made using the applicable stores requisition, stores order
form, a purchase order or Procurement Card (PCard).
Many of the items require costly dry ice shipping. Having freezer programs on campus is a cost effective way
of reducing overall cost to the department/unit.
Live Animals
All live animals must be ordered through the Health Sciences Animal Order Desk.
