Phoenix Employment Ministry (www.phoenixemploymentministry.org), based in Wilmington, NC provides job readiness and life skills training to empower individuals to reach their potential and lead stable lives through satisfying work. The organization has been successful in helping over 700 people find work since the organization’s founding in 2003. Today, we are seeking a motivated and mission oriented Program Coordinator to support the growth of our Job Program. This position will work closely with program participants, staff and volunteers in support of the PEM mission. Interested candidates should have a strong passion for our work and possess the skills and motivation necessary to contribute to our continued success, and improve and extend the reach of our programs. The position will report to the Employment Manager. (This is a new position and is NOT grant funded) Key Responsibilities: Coordinate all aspects of the job program; conduct and implement effective job readiness trainings, schedule volunteers, and evaluate employability Establish and build relationships with participants instilling PEM values and developing high level of trust, leadership, open communication, and confidentiality Manage case load of job seekers; conduct interviews with job participants, provide job leads and evaluate skill set to connect participants with jobs and community resources Support Life Skills program by transitioning participants after employment is found Connect with community partners and organizations to grow our participant base and maintain proper referral communication with key agencies Receive and review program applications and interview potential participants Coordinate volunteers; applications, in-take process, scheduling tours and meetings with staff, and participate in quarterly trainings Work with Employment Manager to participate in placing individuals by communicating with recruiters Develop working knowledge and relationships with employers in the Wilmington area Utilize Salesforce as a major tool in measuring PEM results and growth ensuring accurate and up-to-date data Skills/Competencies Desired: Experience working with diverse populations Case management Strong interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized, motivated, self-starter Ability to work well under pressure, produce results, and meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Education: Bachelor’s Degree Desired Experience: 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in social work, human resources or relevant human services field
