Pre-Licensure Program — Admission Assessment Testing
Students may take the TEAS admission assessment multiple times; however you may only take it once
during each testing administration period.
The Spring test administration period is February 8, 2016 – June 24, 2016
The Fall test administration period is August 1, 2016 – December 2, 2016
You must take the TEAS within the test administration period. If you take the TEAS after the test
administration period, the score will not be accepted. You must register to take the TEAS well in advance.
If you have taken the TEAS multiple times, we will use the highest score achieved in the selection process for
admitting students into the Pre-Licensure nursing program at UNCW. Specifically, we will use the “Adjusted
Individual Total Score”. Contact your School of Nursing Advisor for further clarification.
Testing at a non-UNCW testing center: You may take the TEAS at another testing center. If you choose to
do this, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are taking the correct version of the TEAS and that UNCW
Testing Services receives your official scores via ATI Testing prior to the end of the test administration period.
If you take the TEAS at another testing center and UNCW Testing Services does not receive your score prior
to the last day of the test administration period, the score will not be accepted. Some testing centers charge
more for the TEAS, and require that scores be sent to their testing center (resulting in scores not being sent to
UNCW). In which case, you would be charged an additional fee to have scores sent to UNCW.
The UNCW School of Nursing will no longer accept the HESI Assessment.
TEAS:
The cost of the TEAS at UNCW is $100.00 (non-refundable) payable in advance. Group testing will be offered
at a rate of $80.00 (non-refundable) and held on 11/4/16 at 1:00pm, and 11/10/16 at 1:00pm. Register for
Group Testing in advance.
The TEAS Admission Assessment is approximately 3.5 hours and covers the following:
 Mathematics – Calculators are NOT allowed.
 English and Language Usage
 Reading
 Science
Register to take the TEAS well in advance to ensure that you can take it within the test administration period.

Contact the UNCW Testing Services to schedule an appointment. Spaces fill up quickly so it is important that
students reserve their spot early. UNCW Testing Services is located in DePaolo Hall:

To take tests administered by University Testing Services, you must show a valid ID including picture and
signature. Acceptable forms of identification include a driver’s license, passport, or active military ID.
Calculators are not allowed.
