Please check the scholarships/assistantships for which you would like to be considered. All applicants, whether applying for a scholarship or an assistantship, must provide a both a current C.V. and a current UNCW degree audit with this application. New students who have not attended UNCW in a graduate status need not submit a degree audit.

___ GLS Graduate Assistantships – Two at $11500 each ($5750 per semester) – All assignees will report to either the Assistant Director, GLS Program, or the Director, GLS Program as directed. At the GLS Program Director’s discretion, these assistantships can be broken up and assigned to more than two students as long as the $21000 cap is not exceeded. Anticipated work areas are:

Editorial management of the GLS journal, Palaver .

Assistance in tasks associated with the publication of Palaver .

Assisting faculty with guest lectures and course preparation.

Assisting with various projects in support of co-curricular events and activities.

Development of a program to market Graduate Liberal Studies to the appropriate audience.

___ Tuition Remission (1) - You must apply for (and receive) one of the above GAs and you must be an out-of-state

(or international) student. Estimated remission (full time) is $11,935.44. This amount will change depending on the number of classes taken.

___ New Scholar Award – 1 @ $1000 ($500 fall and $500 spring) . You must be a newly-accepted incoming student (Summer 2016, Fall 2016, or Spring 2017 (if no earlier recipient)) to receive this award.

___ WentworthBerg Award – 1 @ $500 (fall only) You must be a high performing, current GLS student.
