University of North Carolina Wilmington Graduate Liberal Studies Program Change of MALS Final Project Director and/or Reader The relationship between a MALS graduate student and his or her final project committee is very important to the successful completion of the MALS capstone experience, the final project. Most students choose their committee and stay with that choice throughout the process. However, from time to time and for various reasons, students will seek to change the makeup of their committees. These changes can occur for many reasons, both personal and professional. It is important that the GLS program have a record of these occurrences that documents the circumstances involved. This record provides the program a mechanism to protect both students and instructors from inappropriate actions or processes. This form is to be completed by GLS students whenever a committee change is being requested. The student will have the opportunity to meet with the GLS Program Director to express their views on the matter, in both oral and written forms, if she or he so chooses. The information provided on this form, and to the GLS Program Director, will be kept in confidence from the final project committee and in total confidence, if desired.
