PEER EDUCATOR APPLICATION 910-962-CARE The CARE Peer Educators are part of CARE: Collaboration for Assault Response & Education, a department of the Division of Student Affairs at UNCW responsible for interpersonal violence prevention and response. CARE Peer Educators are trained to raise awareness and educate fellow students about relationship issues, relationship abuse, sexual assault, stalking and harassment. CARE Peer Educators’ programs, events, and presentations include: I-CARE , Got Consent?, Looking for Happily Ever After, the Clothesline Project (Survivors’ T-Shirt Art), Speak Out!, Bystander Response Ability, Expect Respect Relationship Check, and Pillow Talks programs. In addition CARE Peer Educators may table and/or present other programs. CARE Peer Educators are… Volunteers who are interested in being trained to deliver programs and presentations about interpersonal violence issues. Able to attend the mandatory two-day training Willing to attend weekly hour-long meetings. Willing to cover a minimum of one presentation and one tabling event per semester of volunteering with CARE. After a year of volunteering, students are eligible to apply for paid positions to work as Peer Educator Coordinators to guide the volunteer Peer Educators and create projects/informational resources for CARE.
