Rome and Florence are arguably two of the most important cultural capitals in Europe.
Though Rome boasts a population of 2.7 million and Florence has a population of about
370,000, both retain the charms often associated with smaller cities. Rome was the seat of the Roman Empire, the home of some of the most dynamic and innovative artists of the late Renaissance and the Baroque, and is today the political capital of Italy. Florence was the seat of the Italian Renaissance and the home to some of the most dynamic and innovative political ideas and scientific discoveries that led to our modern world. Either city would be an ideal place to spend a summer. This program offers the remarkable opportunity to live and study in both cities, in very agreeable accommodations under the supervision of an experienced faculty member.
