CLIMATE CHANGE AND COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT LESSONS FROM WESTERN AUSTRALIA ð MARCH 23, 2015 14:30 – 15:30 ELT2 – PROF. SIR EDOUARD LIM FAT ENGINEERING TOWER Prof. Shaun Collin is a Winthrop Professor at The University of Western Australia and a Western Australia Premier’s Research Fellow. He is a world leader in comparative neurobiology and vision. Western Australia has an exceptionally rich biodiversity. Its management is dependent on a sound understanding of the diverse fauna and how it is affected by coastal development, farming, recreation, and climate change. Prof. Collin has introduced a series of innovative technologies combined with both basic and applied research to trace the evolution of light detection and image formation and to explore the impacts of light on biodiversity, sustainability of animals native to Western Australia, and (animal and human) health. ð FA CU L TY O F O CE A N S TU D IE S UN I V E RSI T Y OF MA U RI TI US w w w .u o m .a c .m u / F O C S
