Australian Culture and Press Freedom

This poster presentation covers an overview of Australian culture and customs with an
emphasized focus on the press freedom in the country. An introduction will give
background information about Australia such as: geography, population, most common
languages in the country. The presentation will also mention a few popular figures and
cultural icons that originate from Australia that became famous in the United States. The
consolidation of ownership of various types of media will also be discussed. Press
freedom ratings given by Freedom House, Reporters without Borders, IREX and
Committee to Protect Journalists will also be mentioned to show where Australia stands
in the global rankings. The presentation will also compare and contrast the press
freedom ratings between the United States and Australia. The presentation will
conclude with more general information coupled with pictures of different things related
to Australia.
