Advising Meeting Checklist
Advising sessions are an opportunity for you to be proactive in raising the key
issues related to your progress toward graduation and your preparation for what
your next step(s) might be. Since your situation and questions may be unique,
your advisor does not necessarily know which specific issues you may need to
address. To assist with that, please complete the following checklist and bring it to
your meeting with your advisor.
General advisor questions you’ll be asked at each session:
1. ____ What month & year are you planning to graduate? (Have you filled out
an application?)
2. ____ Do you plan to study abroad? If so, which year & semester?
3. ____ Do you have a sense of what you want to do after graduation?
4. ____ Do the courses you plan to take this semester and future semesters
address your personal (who do I want to be) and professional (what do
I want to do) goals?
5. ____ How are you using course projects to persue your specialty?
