U of S Course Tools Making a Course Unavailable/Available to Students – For Instructors June 2014 University of Saskatchewan – Turning On and Off a Course ICT Training Services 2014 Background: If you are using the U of S Course Tools for the first time, please review the Course Tools Basic document before using this document. Note that the screenshots contained within may vary from your course, especially with the options available. As the instructor, you determine which of the course tools and other options are available to students. Step: Action: Make a Course Unavailable/Available to Students Background When your course is created in the new Course Tools, it will be available to all students, despite being an empty shell. It is possible to make the course unavailable so that you can add materials to your course and then make the course available at your discretion. Action: Making the Course Unavailable 1. From your homepage, navigate to the Course Management Control Panel, expand Customization, and select Properties 2. Set the availability of the course to NO 3. Click Submit to save your change. Follow the same procedure as previously outlined: From your homepage, navigate to the Course Management Control Panel, expand Customization, and select Properties 2. To make the course available, select Yes beside Make Course Available under Set Availability. 3. To save your changes, click Submit. Your course will now be available.
