Some Common Mistakes 1) Failing to accumulate 124 credit hours • Repeating a course for which credit was previously earned (D- or better) will NOT result in additional hours of credit 2) • • • • Failing to properly transfer credits from other schools Students who take courses at other institutions while enrolled at UNCW MUST complete a transient study form to ensure that a transcript of your completed course work is sent to the UNCW Registrar’s office. Students may transfer up to 93 hours (no more than 64 of which can come from a 2 yr institution) No transfer credit is given for grades of C- or lower Grades earned at other institutions DO NOT impact your UNCW G.P.A. 3) Failing to plan for the Research Methods Sequence • Students must earn passing grades in MAT 111 (or higher, excluding MAT 141/142), STT 215, SOC/CRM 300; SOC/CRM 301 and -- depending on your track --the culminating capstone courses, seminars, and/or practica) . These courses MAY NOT be taken concurrently 4) Failing to register for graduation • Students MUST apply for graduation. Check the registrar’s webpage for graduation application deadline and application form. • http://www.uncw.edu/reg/graduation-deadlinesApp.htm 5) Failing to maintain a GPA that is 2.00 or higher
