RFP for ETEAL-Supported Pedagogy Initiatives 2014-2015 ETEAL, UNCW's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), supports faculty, staff, and students' efforts to enhance academic achievement through applied learning. Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit pedagogy initiatives for amounts up to $3500 to improve applied learning with students during AY 2014-2015. ETEAL-supported applied learning project awards may provide salary stipends, materials, and/or travel. These funds cannot be used for course buy-out, to purchase food, or to pay for travel or stipends for non-UNCW students or personnel. Small group proposals are welcome. In order to expand funding opportunities, preference will be given to first-time proposals. Proposals for funding (3-page maximum) must include the following: 1. A concise description of the applied component of the student learning experience, and how the instructional strategy addresses that component. o Brief background of the applied learning experience, and how it will enhance instruction and its impact on student learning: o Description of how the experience addresses good practices of experiential education, including critical reflection components: 2. A clear description of the specific student learning outcomes (SLOs) for the applied learning experience and how they align with ETEAL SLOs. These must also align with corresponding ETEAL assessment strategies. Proposals that do not address the ETEAL SLOs will not be considered for funding. ETEAL Assessment Strategies: As part of your Applied Learning experience, your students will complete Intention and Critical Reflection products and you will submit these to ETEAL upon completion of your applied learning project. A statement discussing how you have participated in the Applied Learning and Teaching Community (ALTC) events thus far and specifically how you would like to involve yourself in the ALTC during the 2014-2015 academic year and beyond. 4.
