The UNCW Clinical Research Program prepares individuals for participation in the science and business of developing drugs, biologics and biomedical devices. The Program offers courses and educational opportunities, leading to a B.S. in Clinical Research. HIGHLIGHTS CLR courses are online. CLR courses are completely online except for CLR 498 (internship) Web-based format benefits not only traditional students, but also industry professionals by giving them the opportunity to pursue the degree while continuing their employment. o o Internships provide real-world experience and networking opportunities. CLR 498 (800) and 498 (801) are two-semesters of internship (approximately 15 hrs/week) at a biopharmaceutical company, contract research organization, clinical research service provider or clinical site. Sites may be available in cities the where students live and are not restricted to the Wilmington area. o All courses are taught by faculty with extensive industry experience. Faculty with more than 100 combined years of industry experience. Faculty expertise includes biostatistics, pharmacology, regulatory affairs, medical writing, clinical compliance, pharmacoepidemiology/drug safety and psychometrics/patient reported outcomes. o o The Clinical Research program is not a nursing or laboratory-based program. Most graduates work for pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, clinical research service providers or clinical sites enrolling clinical trial subjects.
