PART II SCHEDULE SECTION TITLE D Scope of Work E Special Terms and Conditions 10 IFB No. 016-001 Drop Table System Virginia Railway Express SECTION D SCOPE OF WORK D.1 OVERVIEW A. The scope of work shall include designing, manufacturing, installing and testing a one hundred (100) ton capacity Drop Table System at the VRE Crossroads Yard, located at 9400 Crossroads Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. The Contractor shall furnish all qualified labor, licenses, materials, tools and equipment to manufacture, deliver, install and test a complete Drop Table System in accordance with all Federal, State and Local codes. B. At the project site, the Contractor shall coordinate the installation with the Construction Contractor of the Lifecycle Overhaul and Upgrade (LOU) Facility that will be under construction at the time of installation. C. In the performance of this Contract, the Contractor shall comply with ATTACHMENT W.1 – GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS included in this solicitation. D. The Contractor shall perform work pertaining to the Drop Table System in accordance with the following: E. D.2 1. ATTACHMENT W.2 – included in this solicitation. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS 2. ATTACHMENT W.3 – TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS included in this solicitation. 3. ATTACHMENT W.4 – DESIGN DRAWINGS included in this solicitation. The selected company is referred to herein as either the “Contractor” or the “Manufacturer.” GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A. The Contractor shall perform the following tasks: 1. IFB No. 016-001 Drop Table System Virginia Railway Express Design, furnish, install and test a Drop Table System as a complete and ready-to-operate system including, but not limited to, one (1) transfer table, one (1) service track top with a single axle auxiliary 11 section, one (1) bascule-type release track top, body support beams, movable body supports, traction motor dolly, pit-level progression system and spare parts. B. D.3 2. Store the Drop Table System, as required. 3. Complete factory testing, delivery, start-up, field acceptance testing and operation/maintenance training of VRE employees and contractors. 4. Prepare technical submittals and shop drawings for submission to VRE. 5. Coordinate with the Construction Contractor responsible for construction of the LOU Facility and the pit in which the Drop Table System will be installed. 6. Verify in-person the pit layout, dimensions, utility service connections and embedments prior to equipment delivery. 7. Provide cranes, forklifts and any other tools and equipment necessary for unloading and installing the equipment. 8. Provide warranty coverage and technical documentation including Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals. A Field Representative/Supervisor employed by the Contractor shall be present at the job site for one hundred percent (100%) of the equipment installation, start-up and testing. OPTIONAL FUNCTION The option for weekly storage may be exercised by VRE. The off-site storage of equipment shall be provided, as necessary, until such time as the LOU Facility is ready for delivery/installation of the Drop Table System. 12 IFB No. 016-001 Drop Table System Virginia Railway Express
