These may change. Sophomore Year Leadership Retreat & Experience Leadership Experiences: Date: ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ U.S. Passport All GLI Fellows who are also U.S. citizens can receive funding to apply for a U.S. Passport. A request for funding must be submitted to the GLI office. Junior Year Beyond the Classroom Choose a theme: Body and Mind Consumption, Resources and Sustainability Culture, Identity and Diversity Health, Well‐being and Development Imagination, Creativity and Expression Inequality, Justice and Injustice Lands, Waters and Species Science, Religion and Ethics Story, Communication and Interaction Systems, Algorithms and a Complex World All GLI Fellows will participate in activities that broaden their understanding and interaction with global questions. These opportunities include study abroad, international and regional/local internships, Service‐Learning coursework, field experience and research or creative performance. The chosen opportunity must be worth at least 3 upper‐division credits. Course Name Sem./Year ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ Beyond the Classroom Preparation All GLI Fellows must participate in 3 upper‐division credits that are pursued beyond the classroom (see Junior Year section). Many of these, especially study abroad, can require planning that begins in your freshman year. You’ll need to meet with GLI staff during your freshman or sophomore year to discuss options for this component. Beyond the Classroom meeting Beyond the Classroom Funding All GLI Fellows have the opportunity to apply for funding to assist with costs associated with this component. Senior Year Capstone Project In small groups, GLI Fellows will develop a capstone project which addresses crucial issues affecting the world community. It’s possible for the project to be incorporated into major‐
specific requirements as well. Describe Project: ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________ Fall Semester: 1 credit (project planning) Spring Semester: 1 credit (project implementation) Certificate of Completion All GLI Fellows who successfully complete the GLI Program are awarded a Certificate of Completion at graduation and their status as Fellow will be noted on their transcript.
