Chris Miller 2014-2015 Overall Outstanding Faculty
Associate professor of Speech Chris Miller is the Overall
Outstanding Faculty Member for 2014-2015. The Lombard
resident first took an interest in speech in high school, but he
also wanted to pursue football. A significant skiing injury
ended his athletic dreams, so Miller enrolled at Solano
Community College in California. When taking a speech class
at Solano, however, Miller quickly was recruited by his
teacher, Janene Whitesell, to join the forensics team. He
traveled with the team to participate in the national Phi Rho Pi
national speech tournament in San Francisco, where he
earned a gold medal and was impressed by the excellence of
one particular Illinois school. “That’s where I learned about
COD,” he said. “I didn’t even know the school’s name was
College of DuPage. I just knew it as COD and that it was
great.” Read More
Caitlin Luetger 2014-2015 Overall Outstanding PT Faculty
Adjunct Humanities faculty and lecturer Caitlin Luetger is
COD’s Overall Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member for
2014-2015. The Woodridge resident said when she was ready
for college, she thought her career would be in sports. “I went
to Texas A&M on an archery scholarship, and I thought I’d do
sports forever,” she said. “But because of a rotator cuff injury, I
had to reevaluate what I wanted to do.” It was a general
internship at the DuPage County Historical Museum that led
Luetger to teaching. In particular, Luetger said she liked the
classroom-like settings associated with her job and realized
that’s where she wanted to be. Read More

Kudos to…Associate Dean and
Library Director Blake Walter (left)
and Librarian Debra Smith who
welcomed teachers Allie Morales and
Lisa Bauer and the Early Childhood
Education Center kindergarten class
to a Library field trip on May 14. The
group toured the Library, asked
questions at the reference desk,
picked out books, read a story,
explored the human skeleton and
checked out books at circulation. Even
the students intensely cramming for
those last few finals took a moment to
smile and watch the kids discover the
many wonders found in the Library’s
great new space.
College of DuPage Chairman Kathy Hamilton congratulates
