Wheel of ‘Swag’
Students enjoy spinning the “Wheel of Swag” at the Branding
Launch Celebration, which featured free gifts such as tote bags,
stylus pens, car USB chargers, flash drives, post-its, water
bottles and other “swag.” More than 2,000 students, employees
and visitors enjoyed the party in the SSC Living Room, which
also featured popcorn, cupcakes, cookies, face painting, COD
tattoos, nail polish, a Chappy photo cut-out and a Brand
Thoughts Wall (see photo below), with each participant taking
home a pair of iPhone gloves. In addition, the “Phi Theta

Board Raises Tuition and Fees 2.8 Percent
Facing continued uncertain state funding and other
challenges, the College of DuPage Board of Trustees at
its regular Feb. 20 meeting authorized a $4 tuition and
fees increase effective fall 2014 semester. “Choosing to
increase tuition is not an easy decision and is never one
taken lightly,” said College of DuPage President Dr.
Robert L. Breuder. “It has been this administration’s
belief that incremental tuition increases are easier for
our students to handle than holding back until a doubledigit increase is necessary to play budget catch up.This
strategy has worked. COD is seeing semester after
semester of stellar enrollment at a time when nearly all
other community colleges in the state are experiencing
flat or drastic declines in enrollment.” Read More
What Do You Think?
More than 300 students, faculty and staff added their
comments to the New School of Thought’s “Brand Thoughts
Wall,” which focuses on diverse aspects of what COD means
to each contributor. Stop by the wall – a work in progress –
located on the south end of the SSC Living Room. In addition
to the celebration on Tuesday, more than 500 individuals
attended the branding information sessions. Click here to
watch the Branding Essence Video and visit the branding
website for details about this new college-wide initiative.
