Ms. Rose’s CLASS NEWS J Week of: September 21-25, September 28-October 2 THEME: I’m a Scientist/Five Senses Minute of Movement: Jumping Up, Jumping Forward Activities: AM: Week 1- The AM class will finger paint with paint mixed with Kool Aid, which involves using the sense of touch, smell, and sight. Week 2- The AM class will make a brown play dough volcano that they will take home on a small paper plate. PM: Week 1- The PM class will finger paint with paint mixed with Kool Aid, which involves using the sense of touch, smell, and sight. Week 2- The PM class will do a Magic Milk Experiment (mix whole milk and food coloring using a Q-tip with a drop of soap on it). Water bottle experiment (water, cooking oil, blue food coloring, water bottles) IMPORTANT DATES: Wednesday, September 30th: Field Trip to Leeds Farm for the AM class only. The PM class will be cancelled that day. Group Adapted Physical Education (APE): Wednesday, September 23rd, 9:15-9:40 (AM class) Thursday, October 1st, 10:00-10: 25 (AM class) 2:45-3:10 (PM class) *Please send your child to school in tennis shoes on these days. AM Reading Buddies with the 3rd grade class- Wednesdays, 10:50-11:05 PM Reading Buddies with the 5th grade class- Fridays, 2:50-3:05 *The students meet with their assigned reading buddy each week and read books together for 15 minutes.
