If you review your 2016‐2017 FAFSA results, you will find comments addressing this issue. These comments indicate which loan agency/school you must contact to resolve this issue. To be eligible for financial aid – grants, loans, and work study – you must resolve your defaulted student loan(s). Student Loan Default Verification – please complete Section A and B. Section A: I have accessed my student record at www.nslds.ed.gov and have found that I have defaulted loans from the following Loan Agency/College(s): Name of Loan Agency/College(s) Name of Loan Agency/College(s) Section B: I have attached a copy of the letter(s) from each Loan Agency/College(s) stating that my defaulted loans are no longer in a default status (i.e Title IV Eligibility letter from Department of Education, Default Clearance Letter from your servicer, etc). The letter must clearly state that your loans are no longer in default. ** If you have multiple loans in default from various agencies or schools, you will have to submit a separate letter for each Loan Agency or College** Each letter must be dated within the past 30 days when submitted to our office.
