COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM
The Community Planning Council of Cumberland County, in cooperation
with Methodist College and the League of Women Voters, will hold a forum
open to the residents of the Fayetteville area for the purpose of defining the
social service needs of the county. "Services for People, Cumberland County's
Needs" will begin at 9:45 a . m . on Thursday (January 29) in the Methodist College
cafeteria.
Dr. Sid Gautam of Methodist College will serve as program chairman,
while welcoming remarks will be given by Roy Parker Jr. , chairman of the
Community Planning Council and by E . C. Modlin, director of social services.
The main objective of the program is to meet the challenge of a rapidly
changing community. This concern, along with the attempt to organize efforts
toward efficient results , can only be maintained if the community works togerther
as a service body.
A series of group discussions will be conducted followed by lunch and
a concluding "rap session." Individuals, as well as representatives of
voluntary or public agencies, are invited to join together in this effort to
formulate the priority needs of a community as a community.
