All students enrolled in Physical Education will have class every day for one trimester. The students will
participate in a variety of activities throughout the trimester.
SAFETY: All Dublin City Schools Code of Conduct Rules are to be followed by all students in the gym,
the gym hallways, the locker rooms, and the fields. Students are to follow the directions of staff
regarding procedures for attendance and all activities.
PROPER DRESS: Students are required to wear proper physical education attire: gym/athletic shorts,
T-shirt with sleeves, and proper foot wear (tennis shoes). Everything worn in class must meet the dress
code guidelines for middle school. Sweatshirts, jackets and sweatpants may also be worn and are
encouraged during colder weather when we are outside. If the clothes or shoes are a safety concern,
the student will not be able to participate.
v Failure to dress will result in a loss of points.
ATTENDANCE: Each student will have an assigned attendance and/or warm-up spot. Students are to be
on their spot warming up when attendance is taken.
v Being late or tardy to class without a pass will result in a loss of points.
PARTICIPATION AND RELEASE FROM CLASS: All students are expected to participate in physical
education class daily to the best of their ability. If students are ill/injured and cannot participate for a
single day, they must provide a note from the school nurse or their parents. A doctor’s excuse is
required if the student will be out for more than 3 days.
v Lack of participation or effort will result in a loss of points.
GRADING:

room over night without a lock and locker. Students are encouraged to keep their belongings locked at in
their school locker and not bring valuables to physical education.
