Health and Productivity Coordinator
(Wellness and Benefits)
PURPOSE: Responsible for development and leadership of the City’s Health and Productivity program and direct the
proactive management and administration of City’s benefit plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•
Direct proactive administration of City’s benefit programs including special projects as assigned.
•
Develop and coordinate the internal and external systems for the management and delivery of the City’s
comprehensive H & PM program to maximize the effect and participation in the program.
Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the program in accordance with the program design and
•
provide ideas, leadership and promotion of the program with emphasis in the key areas of education, member
participation and cost constraint of health plan.
•
Coordinate program implementation with vendors and local providers including the ongoing development of
effective delivery systems for each program component.
Develop and access information from numerous sources to regularly evaluate program effectiveness and

recommend future direction and development of the program.
Facilitate and direct regular meeting with a joint labor management committee to solicit feedback, set priorities,
•
develop a work plan for program activities and evaluate program progress toward established goals.
Monitor and oversee contract deliverables and performance guarantees are met by participating vendors.

Serve as the primary liaison to identify strategies and systems to coordinate health and productivity management
•
with City programs such as health, dental, workers compensation, sick leave, employee assistance and
wellness.
Develop, recommend and monitor budget for the program including coordination of data for the measurement of
•
program effectiveness.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Health Education/Wellness, Health Promotion or related field from an accredited college or
university.
2. Certification in Wellness Education or related areas desired.
3. Prefer experience in management or worksite health and productivity management programs, preferably in
organization working with joint labor management committees.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•
Thorough hands-on understanding and operation of health and productivity management programs including
program promotion, assessment and vendor management.
•
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
•
Public speaking skills, including ability to easily and clearly explain and promote a comprehensive H & PM
program and solicit participation and buy-in.
•
Demonstrated skills in writing, design and development of program publications.
•
Technological literacy (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel).
•
Knowledge of research methods, practices and related skills.
•
Initiative and ability to multi-task effectively, work well under pressure, think creatively and meet changing
deadlines.
THE SALARY is $49,000 - $60,800 annually, depending on qualifications, which compliments an excellent benefit
package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance and pension.
THE SELECTION PROCESS will be job-related and will consist of one or more of the following: training and
experience evaluation; written, oral or performance tests; or other assessment methods. Oral examinations may
include written exercises. The Personnel Department reserves the right to call only the most qualified candidates to
oral and performance examinations.
