Experienced Health Educator Indianapolis, IN Details WebMD Health Services is currently experienced Health Educators for our Indianapolis office. Degreed, experienced candidates with fitness or a health/wellness discipline as well as candidates fluent in Spanish are needed. We are seeking wellness coaches, Registered Dieticians, and candidates with CHES or ACSM certifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1) Perform telephonic at-risk health education based on participants' completed health risk appraisal. 2) Provide assessment of at-risk areas and provide referral to appropriate resources. 3) Understand and deliver client-centered coaching through a combination of reflective listening and identification of readiness to change. 4) Assist participants' progress through the stages of change for at-risk behavior. 5) Utilize Motivational Interviewing techniques to elicit behavior change and reduce participant ambivalence 6) Improve the health lifestyle behaviors and overall health of participants. 7) Participate in collective record keeping which allows for continuity to exist between multiple health education sessions. 8) Work with the Fulfillment department in delivering specific, supplemental health related materials to participants. 9) Assist in the production of aggregate reports which incorporate the health education calls made to clients' participants. 10) Performs other, varied job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree in a health-related discipline. Other degrees will be considered when presented in conjunction with relevant work experience in health education. If not already certified, the Health Educator must achieve CHES or certification directly related to their undergraduate/graduate field of study within three months of employment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current health education practices. Knowledge of, and ability to apply Prochaska's Transtheoretical Stage of Change model. Skills in the utilization of basic computer software applications. Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization. Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Working and Environmental Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office environment, including moderate noise levels, moderate temperatures, and moderate lighting.
