JOB SUMMARY
The Wellness Specialist’s main objective is to create and maintain a Worksite Wellness consulting and service offering
and provide consultation and training for our consultants and clients. This technical and consultative resource will
allow Benefits Consultants to focus their time on sales, renewals, and other revenue generating activities.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
The following are essential job accountabilities:
1. Create worksite wellness tools, communications, and campaigns that can be ‘plugged’ into any clients wellness strategies.
2. Provide expertise in developing and maintaining worksite wellness programs; offering creative suggestions for client
and employee engagement and providing strategic guidance for worksite wellness strategies.
3. Effectively highlight and communicate AFG and Third Party capabilities that best meet the clients strategic objectives.
This service is delivered either to the consultant or to the prospect/client. The communication of these wellness services
will include using My Benefits Communication, on-site seminars, webinars, client/prospect tours or presenting at the client
and or prospect site. Ultimately providing the Benefit or P&C Consultant the critical resources to effectively deliver on
the clients expectations, allowing for the consultant to focus on renewal/retention and new sales activities.
4. For clients who have a mature Worksite Wellness model or are in need of a sophisticated Wellness strategy/program,
the Wellness Specialist will help design the client implementation strategy to ensure a smooth execution.
Additionally, facilitate educational and implementation meetings. Ensure the wellness services are completed within the
agreed upon timeframe with the client. Deliver exceptional customer service to further solidify Associated Financial
Group’s positive relationship with the client. Continue to manage post-implementation maintenance.
5. Fully understand the group benefits market to anticipate areas of appropriate growth and expansion of our wellness
services. Attend third party summits, in house vendor information meetings, subscribing and reading industry articles
and periodicals concerning the entire footprint of Associated Financial Group. Investigate competitor offerings and
provide product comparison information to our sales force to ensure Associated Financial Group’s competitive advantage.
6. Promote Associated Financial Group’s technology platform with the marketing department. Writing e-line and Update
articles, preparing seminars, My Benefit Communications and webinars for clients. This will create and build client demand
for our wellness services while increasing our prospecting and retention sales tools.
7. Evaluate existing wellness services and recommend enhancements ensuring Associated Financial Group offers a
superior product to our clients that delivers the best return on investment.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in worksite
wellness.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Wellness field.
Minimum Experience: 3 -5 years wellness/health management experience.
Greater than 5 years in wellness/health management. Demonstrated experience in
Preferred Experience: developing worksite wellness strategies and programs for different employers and
within different industries.
Min. Field-of-Expertise:
Must have working knowledge of wellness products and seminars and legislation
related to these services such as HIPPA, ADA, etc.
Skills--Administrative:
Mastery of computer technology tools – spreadsheets, word processing, email, Internet
search engines, power point etc.
Skills--Machine:
Use of basic office equipment (e.g. photocopier, voice mail, “fax” machine, calculator,
multiple line telephones, typewriter, computer, etc.), or use of basic hand tools.
Working Conditions: Occasional bending, reaching, climbing, lifting.
Environmental Conditions: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
Light physical effort; routine handling of heavy objects up to 20 pounds or prolonged
standing, keyboard, or CRT work (e.g. at least 50% of time).
Physical Strength:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/
or move up to 50 pounds.
Vision Requirements:
Analyze:
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision,
depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Problems are solved by researching and analyzing information before recommending/
selecting the appropriate solution.
Math:
Calculation of percentages, ratios, basic algebraic equations, etc., without instructions or
formulae provided.
Communicate:
Written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information, where neither
format nor content examples exist ( e.g. explaining a theory, proposal, or strategy, etc.)
Travel:
Direct Sales:
Travel is required occasionally for client meetings, (one or more times a month) and
business meetings (couple of times per year).
Promoting Associated Financial Group business directly with customers and referring
them to others for completing the sale.
Compliance: Managing client information within the guidelines of HIPAA, ADA, etc.
Impact:
Measureable, but generally narrow effect on expense, operations, associate relations or
customer relations (e.g. decisions usually impact a specific work area).
Limited – Associate is required to act independently and only seeks guidance on major
Independent Action: exceptions to pre-established guidelines. This is typically reflective of supervisory or
professional associates.
Supervision: Little or no responsibility for supervising or directing others.
