SBA Meeting Minutes – November 5, 2015

Absent: Rosanne Balasabas, Lillian Alvernaz.
Called to order at 12:14 pm by President Hannah Cail.

Previous Meeting Minutes
Jeff Wilson moved to approve and Ben seconded the motion, approved unanimously.
Committee Reports
Ben – GPSA is submitting a plan to the UM President to be a “service” under the University so that they
can take advantage of the fee they created but were not able to take advantage of. Next meeting is in 2
weeks.
Jeff – discussed family law pro bono clinic that could take advantage of the Student Practice Rule to
allow for student legal help.
Old Business
Halloween Party – rough estimate is that we spent $1,120 – we were about $100 under budget. No one
has accounted for the actual expenses yet.
Building Space Issue – Hannah, Ben, Kevin, & Lillian will continue to work on this. Next plan is to develop
a survey to send out. This survey will determine the priorities of the students so we can work on the
highest priority project first.
New Business
State Bar Presentations – Three in the Spring, there will be one on clerkships and another on rural
practice, so we need to figure out a third presentation idea.
Faculty Meeting – Bar class review course, students in the 4th and 5th quintile were automatically put
into this class (based on grades in the required bar courses).
Jeff moved to adjourn the meeting and JR seconded, motion passed unanimously.
