COMMUNICATION: As part of the UM Minute Associate Provost Lindsay shared that the AO’s were supportive of moving the Graduate School under the VP of Research at yesterday’s meeting. BUSINESS ITEMS: The Council discussed the distribution of the curriculum forms. Several forms were moved from Professional Schools to even out the workload. Media Arts and Theater were moved to Humanities, with additional consultation from Professor Gray. Health and Human Performance forms were moved to Science, and Counselor Education to Social Science. Camie will send the revised spreadsheet and links to the forms not on e-Curr and instructions to view the e-curr forms according to the subcommittee reports. Subcommittees should consider whether it might be necessary to meet with proposers and report to Chair Swift. The consent agenda dates were identified according to the number of forms to review, with the subcommittee with the least presenting first. The documents were approved and will be sent to the Department Chair and the Provost’s Office. Student members would like to see more graduate increment validity measures put in place at the department level. This issue will be considered more in depth once curriculum review is completed. Revisions to the draft letter reminding departments to provide adequate graduate increments for graduate students enrolled in UG courses were suggested. Chair Swift will make the edits and send the letter to the graduate School for dissemination. The Council will not meet next week to allow the subcommittees to use the time to review the curriculum forms. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 1:00p.m.
