Communication The signature page for the proposed welding certificate has been received so the item will be on the curriculum consent agenda at Thursday’s Faculty Senate meeting. ASCRC was informed of a problem resulting from common course numbering. A course taught at the Missoula College was flocked to be equivalent to a course taught at the main campus, now ENST 230, Nature and Society. The course at the Missoula College was a writing course, but the main campus course was not. It is a large section of typically 200 students. However, because the courses were flocked as equivalent it was given a writing attribute in Banner. The error has been in the catalog for one year. Students who took the course last academic year will receive writing credit for either section. A short term solution has been negotiated to give the Missoula College course a different number – ENST 231. The faculty member may have been alerted to this issue sooner if the writing attribute was not hidden. This is a problem for two-year campuses embedded in four-year colleges. There is another issue with Development Psychology Problem for other courses – Psyc developmental Psych Business Items: The revised AP /Clep procedure was approved. It will go to the Faculty Senate next fall. Camie will send it to the Admissions office for feedback as well. The pending items on the draft annual report were edited and it was approved. The language in e-Curr will be updated to only require learning outcomes on the syllabus without the description. Sample outcomes will be considered next fall. The Graduation Appeals Committee will consider establishing a procedure for reviewing trends in the petitions and establishing a list of equivalent courses that can be used for symbolic systems, math and language. The revised curriculum deadline memo was approved. Chair Henderson thanked members for their work for the year.
