Please explain/justify the new proposal or change. 
We are adding THTR 206 to the requirements for the bachelor’s degree in order to provide students with
varied production experiences—each course (THTR 106A and THTR 206) represents the chance to work
on a specific show within the School of Theatre & Dance’s season. Adding a second backstage
requirement will allow students to experience multiple types of production in multiple venues. We are also
updating those two courses to reflect a current course proposal to increase the number of credits available.
We are removing the student’s option to choose his/her acting class within the bachelor’s degree in order
to give all general theatre majors another common course requirement.
