All students must take DANC 194: Freshman Seminar prior to auditioning for the major. Please explain/justify the new proposal or change. We are removing listings of specific semester/year for the required courses for the BFA in Dance’s choreography and performance specialization to avoid confusion as many of the courses have recently revised their schedules and more schedule changes are being currently proposed. We are replacing the repeat requirement for DANC 280-Dance Conditioning: Pilates with an equal-credit HHP requirement in order to enhance the physical capabilities of each dancer on an individualized basis. We are proposing that DANC 405-Advanced Improvisation become a two-credit course and therefore correcting that listing in the Choreography/Performance requirements. We are also removing the acting requirement in order to advise certain majors to take it as an elective rather than require it of all majors. V Copies and Electronic Submission Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221 (camie.foos@mso.umt.edu). VI Department Summary Required if several proposals are submitted. In a separate document list program title and proposed change of all proposals. Revised 11-2009
