The reduction of the minor requirements by one class will allow students to pick up the AAS minor at a later point in their academic career. Most students at UM do not enter intending to minor in AAS but rather discover their love of the subject once here. Given that the Black Radical Tradition is offered only every other year, its inclusion in the core requirement list made many students take it as an independent study and kept others from joining the minor. In addition to making the minor more attractive to UM students, the change does not appreciably affect the overall rigor of the offering. Only the history department is affected by the change since the requirement for all electives remains unaltered. V Copies and Electronic Submission Once approved, the original, a paper copy and an electronic file are submitted to the Faculty Senate Office, UH 221 (camie.foos@mso.umt.edu).
