Approval of 08/03/11 Meeting Minutes
o Robyn made the motion to approve the August 3, 2011 meeting minutes. Erin
seconded the motion.
New Business




Possible Wellness Events – Dr. Sallie Scovill
o Dr. Sallie Scovill suggested mini screening ideas such as: blood pressure, body fat,
fitness, nutritional analysis, healthy eating, tai chi, yoga. It was decided to offer
2 wellness activities on Thursday, October 13th. CSAC will also try to partner with
Wellness throughout the year to offer more brown bag or other events.
 Noon – 12:30pm Introductory to Tai chi
 12:30 – 1:00pm Introductory to Yoga
Concealed Carry – Chancellor Patterson
o Chancellor Patterson welcomed discussion and communication regarding the new
concealed carry of firearms and weapons by licensed individuals legislation that
will become effective in the State of Wisconsin on November 1, 2011. He
requested a resolution from CSAC that states CSAC’s position on weapons in
campus buildings and employees that carry weapons during the performance of
their job duties, unless required as a condition of employment. Erin H. and Jackie
C. will draft a resolution for CSAC review. Resolution needed by Chancellor
Patterson before October 1st.
Classified Staff Appreciation Week
o Dates: October 10-14, 2011
o Events
 Classified Staff Exceptional Person of the Day deliveries
 Free Cardio Center access to classified staff members with UWSP issued ID
card
 Tuesday, October 11th – Suites @ 201 Tours 11:45 a.m. sessions, 12-15 per
group, RSVP needed to determine numbers of guides needed. Jackie C. will be
accepting reservations.
 Wednesday, October 12th - CSAC Chili Sale – Traditional chili and condiments
will be ordered and delivered from University Dining Services and black bean
vegetarian chili and white bean chicken chili from CPS Café. Same location at
the DUC as last year but need to have more and bigger signs. Sale profits for
this year will benefit the CPS Dietetics Student Scholarships.
 Thursday, October 13th - noon-12:30 p.m. Tai Chi and 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
