Classified Staff Advisory Council Minutes Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 9 – 10 a.m., Dreyfus University Center (DUC) Room 211 Present: Danielle Beschta, Jackie Christianson, Denise Heimstead, Erin Hintz, Nicole Kraft, Marshall Lee, Cindy Marczak, Tracy Raatz, Anthony Walter, Robyn Woytasik Excused: Jackie Durigan, Susan Mory, Jean Scherer Guest: Cindy Balz Approval of November 2, 2011 minutes Anthony Walter moved to approve minutes. Cindy Marczak seconded the motion. Transfer and Recruiting Process – Anthony Walter and Cindy Balz During the interim (1/1/2012 through 6/30/2013), blue collar worker transfers will remain seniority based; office and dining positions will follow voluntary transfers and open recruitment (handout). Civil service exams will remain as they currently are during the interim. DMCs are available per request to Cindy Balz, Bob Tabor, or Anthony Walter. UWSP will have a permanent system in place beginning 7/1/2013. Update on Budget Summit – Erin Hintz A two-day summit was held to collaboratively plan on UWSP’s future regarding budget lapses and cuts. UWSP has a plan in place for this year’s lapse. Increased enrollment and other revenue generating ideas were also discussed. January/February Food Drive – “Hungry Hearts” Food donated to The Cupboard Yes Dates for the drive February 1 through 14, 2012 Collection boxes and locations Tracy Raatz and Marshall Lee will get the boxes and decorate. Locations suggestions: Personnel Office, LRC Circulation Desk, UDS in the DUC, Help Desk. Erin Hintz will check where boxes were located last year and email to committee. Who will monitor which boxes and take donations to The Cupboard Sign-up will be done over email once locations are determined. Advertising (MOD, SMOD, Posters/Signs) Jackie Christianson will create a flyer and post around campus. MODs and SMODs will be done on 1/30/12 & 2/6/12. Anything else for this project? Erin Hintz will contact Shannon Williams to see what is currently needed at The Cupboard. Start planning for Spring Classified Staff Appreciation Week – April 16–20, 2012 Listed just as an FYI. o Brown Bags Suggestion: Mark Seiler speaking about the history in the Founders Room, Old Main; Marshall Lee giving a behind the scenes tour of some of the food service areas. o Tours - Waste Management Facility or Military Science Area Waste Management area was previously done, but prior to the facility being completed. Committee thought there would be high interest for this tour. o Newsletter o Elections o Exceptional Person of the Week o Awards Ceremony – Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 3 p.m., Alumni Room o Sargis Award Committee o Classified Staff Recognition Awards o Length of Service Awards Committees Review Chancellor’s Cabinet-Erin Hintz reported-discussion on expanding Inclusive Excellence efforts on campus; discussion on moving commencement permanently indoors, the location, and number of ceremonies. Treasurer-Nicole Kraft requested the Chili Sale numbers so she can put them on the CSAC Web site.
