ABOUT PENDLETON, OR
Pendleton was incorporated in 1880 and currently has a population of approximately 15,000. The city is located on
I-84 and is a 4 hour drive from Portland and 3 1/2 hours from Boise. Located in Umatilla County, Pendleton is home
to Blue Mountain community college, Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution, Pendleton Woolen Mills, and the
largest rodeo in the world; the famous Pendleton Round-up, held in September. The Umatilla River runs through
the middle of town as does the Union Pacific Railroad. The town is divided into 4 quadrants: north and south based
on the river, and east and west based on Main Street, so it is easily navigable. SeaPort Airlines offers commuter
service to Portland several times a day. Public transportation has a limited number of routes from town to the
office.
