Study Program
The content of the study program varies ac­cor­
ding to the profile of each university. Most
courses are taught in English, some Hessen:ISU
programs also offer courses taught in German.
Language Courses
In addition to the study program, Hessen:ISUs
provide the opportunity to learn German.
There is no more effective way to learn Ger­
man than to learn it in Germany and to be able
to practice it in your daily life. Hessen:ISUs

Course Credits
Upon successful completion of the program,
you will receive credits based on the Euro­
pean Credit Transfer System (ECTS). For each
seminar/module (including the German lan­
guage course), you will receive three ECTS
credits that often can be transferred to your
home university. Thus, after studying in Ger­
many for four weeks, not only will you have
spent an exciting time in Germany, but you
will also have earned credits that can contri­
bute to your academic career.

Cultural Program
All Hessen:ISUs offer exiting excursions to
give you the opportunity to see more of
Hessen and Germany. You will get to know
the people and the cultural heritage, and
have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful
landscape. In addition, bars, cafes, and
cinemas are great authentic settings for you
to practice German!
Who can participate?
The Hessen:ISU programs are designed for
both students and workings adults in the
fields of politics, economics, law, culture, me­
dia, and technology who want to learn more
about the German and European dimensions
of their respective fields.
