False transcript case yields innocent plea
An Iowa State University student accused of lying about obtaining an
undergraduate degree in efforts to get admitted to ISU has pleaded not guilty to
serious misdemeanor charges on falsifying academic degrees.
ISU authorities have said Ana Montanez, 23, submitted false transcripts from St.
Mary's College in California.
She was about to graduate from from ISU this May.
A jury trial is scheduled for 9 a.m. July 13. A pretrial conference is scheduled for
June 29.
