Trilithic Announces Strategic Partnership
With VoIP Test Systems Leader Minacom at SCTE 2005
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (Wednesday, June 15, 2005) – Trilithic today announced its new strategic
partnership with VoIP Test Systems leader Minacom Inc.
The integration and sales partnership integrates Trilithic field test products with Minacom products,
opening the door to a very extensive set of VoIP service level measurements. Trilithic’s 860 DSPi Digital
Cable Analyzers are closely integrated with the Minacom test system, which includes the PowerProbe
6000 for testing Call, VoIP, Speech, Fax and IP QoS as well as the compact PowerProbe 30s that work
with the 860 DSPi to test the VoIP loop to the subscriber level and including the inside house wiring.
"Our customers are either implementing, or thinking about adding VoIP service to build additional
revenues. This solution provides a complete set of telephony testing tools, enabling them to efficiently
grab market share while meeting budget requirements” said Terry Bush, Trilithic President.
Minacom’s PowerProbe 30 is unique, and its combination of small size, being line powered, feature rich
and low cost enables a large number of applications ranging from subscriber VoIP loop testing to the
intermittent VoIP fault tracking that requires active monitoring, to VoIP loop pre-qualification for alarm
systems.
For each Test Call, the PowerProbe 30 gathers 60 service level measurements checking the following
types of impairments: Call Connectivity; Network Responsiveness; Speech Quality (MOS); Codec Issues
(VAD, Packet Loss); Echo; Noise; Voice Path Delay; Frequency Response; DTMF Detection; Fax.

including Voice over Cable. The Trilithic partnership is a natural since both products already work
together in real production environments, brings both Trunk Testing (105) and IP QoS, will provide even
further interoperability in the future and saves Cable MSOs from purchasing a separate handheld test unit
