We will discuss more ideas as we felt it was important to keep a fundraiser going. Steppin Out in Pink fundraiser ideas were also discussed. Send ideas to Sharie and Maureen. 5. Guidebook Krista gave Maggie a guidebook of an overview of the OCW for her review. 6. Year End Gathering We discussed options of a picnic or a get together at a restaurant. Because of the low attendance at the last picnic, the group opted to attend a restaurant instead. 7. Evaluation Results were passed around. 8. Future Plans/Goals Maggie is getting new lapel pins with the tack-like fastener made with the new OCW logo at 5th Ave. Awards. The OC would be in silver and the W in maroon. Maggie will be the new president beginning June. We felt our coat and mitten drives have been successful. Another idea is offering back packs for schools including school supplies. Community outreach was a priority for the group. Ideas were discussed for the next symposium. A speaker on eating disorders and body image is being looked into. UW-L’s department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, and nutrition and psychology classes may be good resources. Perhaps Career Services could have a break out session on Dress for Success. Other ideas were campus climate and inclusive excellence break out sessions. Carmen Wilson could talk about Women Supporting Women. Karmin Van Domelen is on the board at New Horizons and could look into ideas there. Teen clothes for females and donating prom dresses were discussed. We want to keep our focus on college students as much as possible. Maggie will arrange rooms for future meetings in Centennial Hall if possible.
