Reviewers must have recommendations back to Maureen by April 4. Newsletter / Directory Bev asked for help with the spring newsletter. Some possible topics include: an update on the picnic, a recap of the two Ellen Bravo presentations, book club highlights, and information about dues. OCW Symposium Diane reported that about 50-60 people attended the 7:00 p.m. Ellen Bravo presentation. At the 4:00 p.m. presentation Ellen talked about her life as an activist. Some women mentioned that they missed having a lunch and an opportunity for informal discussion that was such a vital part of previous symposiums. We had a brief discussion about planning for next year; possible topics include: healthy work environment, wellness, bullying in the workplace. Kaye Schendel’s name came up again as a possible speaker. Kathleen Paris spoke at a training session that Jo Ann attended and is recommended. Carmen sent a list of questions to Jennifer and Deb about funding for symposium. Having these questions answered will help aid planning for future OCW Symposiums. Program Committee The Book Club has picked their new books – we will be reading two books by Harriet Mc Bryde Johnson, (one or both – people can decide). Mc Bryde Johnson is a speaker coming to campus on April 16, and will be talking about what it is like to live life with a disability. Too Late to Die Young and Accidents of Nature discussions are scheduled for Tues. April 15 at noon – Murphy’s Mug. Social Committee Please mark you calendars for the picnic May 15th. YWCA Tribute Susan left a note that Kenna Christians is the interim executive director of the YWCA. Website Carmen asked about updating the dues collection cycle on the web.
