The College Industry Council on Material Handling Education (CICMHE) is pleased to announce the 15th

International Material Handling Research Colloquium (IMHRC) planned for 12-16 June, 2016 in Karlsruhe,

Baden-Württemberg, Germany.

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, pictured above, is serving as the local host.

Attendees are also encouraged to attend the 8th International

Scientific Symposium on Logistics (ISSL), organized by BVL

International. ISSL will start the evening of 15 June and all day

16 June.

The Colloquium shares world-class research accomplishments, projects and trends in the field of material handling and logistics. The event is structured to facilitate dialog and collaborative research among teams of university researchers on leading edge topics.

With an immersion philosophy of complete participation by participants, the program includes a mix of invited presentations, facilitated discussions, poster sessions, facility tours and social events. The call for papers will be issued in August 2015.

Since its first event in 2002, the ISSL has been a world-class forum for the scientifically oriented logistics community. The event promotes the exchange of ideas across specialist and geographic borders to encourage the development of totally new models and provide solutions to real-world issues relevant to researchers and scientists.

In addition to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, this area of Germany has many interesting manufacturing and distribution centers. Potential industry visits include a major automotive assembly facility and a large spare parts distribution center for the automotive aftermarket. Tours to such facilities will figure prominently on the event programs.

Save the dates, 12-16 June 2016, for this opportunity to promote material handling and logistics research.

More details, including event costs, will follow in the coming months.
