Position: Food Service Manager
Department: College of Natural Resources – Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES)
Classification: Food Retail/Catering Leader 1 (84901)
Pay Schedule-range: 03-11, minimum $14.194, based on qualifications and experience
Work Location: Sunset Lodge, 10186 County Road MM Amherst Junction, WI 54407
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend and evening responsibilities will be required. Holiday
hours may be required.

Position Description: The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the overall food
service program at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station. Responsibilities include supervision of
food service staff, scheduling staff, preparation of menus for all visiting groups, maintaining food inventory,
ordering foods, maintaining and creating recipes, cooking, baking, serving, and cleaning. In the summer,
the kitchen serves undergraduate students during a field experience course, and then serves youth ages 6-17
for residential camps Sunday-Friday. During the school year, the kitchen provides food service for visiting
school groups, adult contract groups, and hot and cold lunches for an on-site charter school. Lunches and
dinners typically include a meal and full salad bar along with dessert. Weekend and evening shifts are
required and shared with other food service employees. For a full list of responsibilities, please see the

Department/University Description: The Central Wisconsin Environmental Station (CWES) is a
200-acre teaching and learning center located 17 miles east of Stevens Point on glacial Sunset Lake. Since
1975, we have been an integral part of the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point College of Natural
Resources program and is staffed with professional natural resource and environmental educators. Our

Skills/Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of Health Code Standards, including DHS 175 for recreational and educational camps
- Certification as a food manger, or ability to obtain certification
- Computer skills including email, Microsoft word and excel
- Strong customer service and supervisory skills
- Strong supervisory skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy and flexibility
- Organizational skills to establish work priorities and manage work independently to successful
completion
- Ability to organize and manage competing demands and priorities
- Creative, flexible, self-motivated, and quality oriented
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and produce accurate, detailed work within
established timeframes
- Must have the detail orientation, initiative and ability to organize and maintain records

Appointment Date: May 15, 2016 or shortly thereafter
Terms of Employment: This is an on-going 100% University Staff position. This position will be required
to serve a six-month probation period. Evening and weekend responsibilities will be required. Holiday
hours may be required. On call work and varied hours may be required. The position requires driving a state
vehicle and meeting the requirements of driving a state vehicle is a condition of employment. The position
also requires a State of Wisconsin Food Service License, or the ability to attain said licensure.
