POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT NO. 16-06AS135 JOB OPENING ID: 11618 Position: International Admissions Specialist Department: Office of International Education (OIE) Hayes Hill Title: Associate Administrative Specialist (R08FN) Position Description: The successful candidate for this position will recruit international undergraduates and intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) Program students as well as communicate with prospective students and their families in person, by telephone, social media, web, and email, and educate prospective students and others about the benefits, responsibilities, and challenges of study in the U.S. S/he will perform CRM-supported communication activities to support prospective international students as they move through the international application and admissions funnel. The successful applicant will also develop and leverage relationships with high school guidance counselors, study abroad agents or advisors, and international alumni, collaborate with colleagues on international application processing, and oversee the creation, production, and periodic updating of international recruitment and admission materials/media. The successful candidate must be able to travel extensively within the United States and abroad (up to 15 weeks annually) and work regularly on evenings and weekends, particularly when traveling. Department/University Description: International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) provides longitudinal support to international students at all levels of study: undergraduate; graduate; and English as a Second Language (ESL) intensive learners. ISSS and ESL are constituents of the UW-Stevens Point Office of International Education (OIE). The International Admissions Specialist reports to the OIE Director. Qualifications: Required: • A bachelor’s degree • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite • Exceptional written and oral communication skills • A valid driver’s license and passport as frequent travel is required • Minimum of one semester of university study or work experience abroad • Demonstrated ability to creatively plan, organize, and execute complex events • • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty and staff Minimum of one year of experience working directly with post-secondary students of various nationalities Preferred: • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field • Minimum of one year of international recruitment and/or admissions experience • Experience with CRM databases • Knowledge about US visa regulations as they pertain to international (F-1) students • Experience in working with post-secondary level ESL Program students • Ability to speak a language other than English Appointment Date: July 1, 2016 or as soon as possible thereafter Terms of Employment: This position is a full time Academic Staff position. This position is a fixed term, intent to renew position. The position is contingent upon funding. Minimum starting salary is $32,102.
